Placeholder body copy. An ear keloid is an overgrown scar that develops after trauma to the skin — most commonly from a piercing, but also from injury, surgery or even acne. Unlike a normal scar, a keloid extends beyond the original wound and rarely fades on its own.

Placeholder second paragraph. On the ear, keloids most often appear on the earlobe (from piercings) or around the cartilage of the upper ear (helix piercings). They can be small and round or large and lobulated, and they can keep growing over time if left untreated.
